  • Featuring 24 presenters (including 4 faculty) coming from 5 disciplines and 8 universities in 5 countries, and covering a wide array of topics ranging from Mexican berry-farm workers, the medieval roots of habitus, US "think tanks," and Chinese cinema to the making of economists, terrorism experts, soldiers, families, the penal state, and the public sphere, this working conference is intended as an interdisciplinary vehicle for doctoral students conducting social research deploying Pierre Bourdieu's concepts, a platform to present and discuss their work and to learn from each other's approaches, problems, and solutions. Interested scholars grappling with germane issues are welcome to attend and join in the discussion.
